Cloak and Dagger have arrived outside of the newly renovated Poseidon Hotel searching for their friend Anna Johnson only to discover that the building is in flames. Although some of the patrons of the charity gala had managed to flee the building, the front has collapsed, trapping more inside. While down in the sub-basement, Spider-Man tries desperately to keep debris from falling on a trio of Morlocks and Anna Johnson. He is helped by the Morlock named Ent. When they try to pull Mother Inferior to safety, she uses her control of rats to force Spider-Man, Ent, Pester, Anna, and the baby away, sacrificing her life to save the others. However, despite this, Anna points out that they are now trapped.
